Dodger Stadium is one of the most beloved parks in all of baseball.
But as she approached her 40th birthday, she was in need of cosmetic
and structural improvements to keep pace with her peers in other
major cities.
At the Field level, new seating areas were added along the foul
lines and behind home plate to bring fans closer to the action.
New seating areas also provided access for the disabled, and restrooms
were expanded and modernized. Fans seated in the section behind
home plate were permitted exclusive access to a new Dugout Club
bar and restaurant that was created beneath the seating bowl.
Mollenhauer Group's civil engineering division was contracted
to renovate and design the ball field's perimeter drainage system
and subdrainage system for the new club box seats behind home plate.
Mollenhauer also worked extensively with the irrigation systems
consultant for field drainage connections. Additional professional
services performed included utility detection and GPS control,
topographic and as-built surveying for the civil design and the
geotechnical consultant design of seismic renovations. |

Created by world-renown architect Frank Gehry, the Walt Disney
Concert Hall is one of the most sophisticated concert halls in
the world, providing an unparalleled experience both visually and
aurally. From the stainless steel curves of its striking exterior
to the state-of-the-art acoustics of the hardwood-paneled main
auditorium, the 3.6-acre complex embodies the unique energy and
creative spirit of the city of Los Angeles and its orchestra.
One of the world's most technically-advanced structures, the building's
lack of right angles and its overall sculpture-like quality mandated
extraordinary state-of-the-art construction techniques. Drawing
on its expertise in other large, complex construction projects,
the Mollenhauer Group provided a wide range of construction services
on this project, including construction staking, as-builts, anchor
bolt verification and layout, plumbing of steel columns, grid and
vertical control, floor penetrations, and base isolator control. |
