Kaiser Ontario Medical Center

 

The Ontario Vineyard Medical Center offers orthopedics, hematology, and oncology in addition to ear, nose and throat services for Kaiser Permanente members throughout the Inland Empire. Offices include a radiation therapy center, freestanding outpatient surgery center and a medical office building; the Outpatient Surgery Center features eight high-tech operating suites.

Mollenhauer developed site master plans for this facility, including a site grading plan, a site drainage plan and a site sewer and water plan. In addition, Mollenhauer acted as the civil engineering and surveying and mapping consultant for the project. On-site civil improvements consisted of curb and gutter, paving, storm drains detention basins, and sewer and water facilities.

L.A. County USC Medical Center

 

At 1.5 million square feet and a total cost of $820.6 million ($619 million in construction costs), the Los Angeles County and USC Medical Center is scheduled for completion in the fall of 2006. The new facility includes a seven-story specialty outpatient clinic building, an eight-story, 600-bed inpatient tower, a five-story diagnostic and treatment facility, and a central energy plant. Site preparation included demolition of six existing buildings, utility relocations, hazardous materials removal and occupant relocation.

Mollenhauer provided all construction surveying services for the prime contractor for this project, McCarthy, Clark and Hunt (MCH).

Kaiser Sunset/LAMC Hospital Replacement

 

In coordination with the Smith Group (San Francisco), Mollenhauer is providing the grading plans, utility plans, horizontal and vertical control for this project, which is being constructed in eight major phases, the first seven of which are being built around the existing and still functioning hospital.

In addition to the Kaiser property, Mollenhauer is directing improvements on Barnsdall Park Property that includes a new 45 foot high and 570 foot long Soil Nail Wall, a first for Los Angeles.  Site clearing to make way for the project involved the removal of over 120,000 cubic yard of dirt, and the removal and replacement of 2 roadways and the construction of 2 new roadways.

Mollenhauer is providing all civil engineering for this eight-phase project in cooperation with the architect, general contractor, subcontractors and public utility agencies; in addition, Mollenhauer's construction survey department is providing all construction staking and site monitoring for the project's prime contractor, Rudolph & Sletten.

Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian

 

An all-encompassing center that combines progressive technology with patient education and comfort, the Sue and Bill Gross Women's Pavilion is a seven-story, 320,000-square-foot facility that will add 80 beds and provide expanded clinical space.

The Women's Pavilion serves as the new main entrance for the hospital and will house more than 15 new and existing services, including Women's Health Services, Ambulatory Procedure Services, Laboratory Services, Patient Registration, Patient Education and a Hospitality Center. The building meets new state guidelines that ensure Hoag will not only remain intact after a seismic event, but will also be functional for the provision of acute care medical services after an earthquake.

Mollenhauer is providing all construction surveying services on this project.

UCLA Santa Monica Orthopaedic Replacement Hospital

 

This new state-of-the-art facility is designed to set a national standard of excellence for healthcare delivery at the community hospital level. Mollenhauer Group is providing on-call quality control surveying for construction of the new Acute Care Hospital that will provide high-active and intensive care for 525 patients and observation services for 65 patients. The project consists of eight (8) stories above grade and two (2) below, one of which will provide parking for about 300 vehicles.
