In
a move to expand Mollenhauer’s services beyond Southern California,
the company has acquired Burdick Engineering, a surveying firm of
long-standing located in the greater Denver area. This development
will also permit existing Mollenhauer clients with interests in
Denver to utilize the firm’s services on those projects.
The new company will be known as MollenhauerBurdick, which will
allow Mollenhauer to leverage the identity and goodwill associated
with Burdick while at the same time introducing Mollenhauer to building
owners, builders, architects, developers and public agencies in
the greater Denver metropolitan area.
Burdick Engineering has been in operation in the Denver area for
85 years. Its former owner, Eugene Burdick, is approaching retirement
age and is eager to see the firm and its employees continue to grow
and prosper. Mr. Burdick will be staying on with the new company
for a two-year period to ensure a smooth transition.
According to the Denver Economic Development Corporation, the local
economic environment looks very promising -- employment growth is
outpacing the rest of the U.S. at the moment, and construction is
one of the hottest sectors of the greater Denver economy.
